Slept like a rock! The Ozark Inn and Restaurant in Ozark, Oklahoma has some of the best beds I have ever slept in…soft, goooshy, warm, great feather pillows…nice- and all for $50 bucks! Took a nice hot shower dressed and walked across the gravel parking lot for breakfast; God I love this, and there it was, an all you can eat breakfast buffet (you must pronounce the ‘t”) Eggs scrambled in bacon grease, bacon, sausage, hamburger patties grits, tater’s, French toast, buckwheat pancakes, biscuits and bacon grease gravy…as Daffy Duck would say DaRooool. The biscuits had that nice layer on the bottom, not burnt, not crispy- just a bit chewy and with that gravy….OMFG!
Billy Joe Bob and his eighteen cousins (whose family tree goes straight up) were all there at the trough too, and they we packin’ it in baby. There is no-way that restaurant made money today….just no-way, hell they lost money on the gravy alone! I can put some groceries away, but these boys, they are in a completely different league. I’d say there were about 20 of ‘em in thar, some with their wives; I think. Had to be that 15 of ‘em where wearing bib-overalls. If any one of these guys were to walk out of a Guess store wearing a new Guess shirt………I dunno……I’d “guess”- three-eighty-five?
I stayed off I-40 first thing this morning as Ozark is located at the intersection of hwy 23 and 64 west. Turning left out of the parking lot (after a little giggle I might add) I headed west on 64; fantastic! Once past
The day had started pretty nice but, the weather turned as I got closer to

Sounds like a good day! I met “Jalapeño” Jed Donahue today, who is a professional eater - who’d a thunk that was a profession? Anyway, sounds like friends of Jed’s must’ve been at breakfast. Very cool trip to the Route 66 Museum - they got some cool stuff there! Like the tractor seat collection - that’s pretty nice indeed! More great pics and another great write from Klaus - keep up the great work and have a safe trip tomorrow!

One of your better entries….I’m heading out to Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles now….If I can find one.
However, I am now more confident than ever that I was right and will now toss out 1,000 to 1 odds. Hmmmm, not one taker…..even the two guys who know what it is are not taking me up on the offer. I wonder what that could mean?
